That's why we've launched AIA Impact, an innovative leadership and community program that pairs our senior leaders with leaders of not-for-profit organisations focused on preventing and detecting chronic diseases.
Non-communicable diseases like cancer, heart disease, respiratory disease, diabetes, and mental health conditions account for over 90% of deaths in Australia. Yet these diseases are largely preventable through early intervention and healthy lifestyle choices. This is why a major focus of our work is on health promotion and disease prevention.
Through AIA Impact, our teams collaborate to develop strategic plans and execute key projects that amplify the impact of these vital organisations. By combining the skills and expertise of AIA leaders with the passion and purpose of the not-for-profit sector, we're able to deliver tangible health and wellbeing outcomes for Australian communities.
In the first iteration of the program, our participants achieved remarkable outcomes:
- Ending Loneliness Together introduced a scalable training program to address workplace loneliness, a growing public health issue.
- Prevention United advocated for federal funding to promote youth mental wellbeing, a critical investment in the future of our nation.
- The Pain Revolution project expanded access to tools and programs for managing chronic pain, improving quality of life for thousands of Australians.
- The Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation secured increased funding for critical research projects, bringing us closer to a cure for this devastating disease.
We're immensely proud of our AIA Impact participants and their dedication to improving health and wellbeing in Australian communities. This program is a tangible expression of our corporate social responsibility efforts, as we work to create shared value and drive positive change.
By partnering with purpose-driven organisations, AIA Impact is making a real difference in the lives of Australians. Together, we're working towards a healthier, happier future for all.
