Our goal is to be clear, transparent and there for you throughout your journey – so, whether you want personal, tailored financial advice or you just want the peace of mind that life and health cover can give you, we have 5 simple steps to your financial wellbeing.
5 Steps to Financial Wellbeing
General advice
Personal advice
- General advice does NOT take into account your personal goals, needs and objectives.
- Products quoted are AIA life and AIA health insurance.
- General advice is provided at no charge to you.
Step 1: Get a quote
- Our wellbeing insurance consultants will ask you questions to understand what kind of insurance you want
- If you want health insurance, they will refer you to our Health team
- They will explain AIA’s life insurance product types and features
- Based on the type of protection and amount of cover you want, they will generate a quote for you
- If we find that Personal Advice may be more appropriate for your needs, we will refer you to one of our financial planners (see Step 2 in Personal Advice).
Step 2: Accept quote and apply
- If you wish to proceed and apply for AIA life insurance based on this quote the consultant will commence the application process with you
- A confidential tele-appointment with an AIA underwriter will be booked for you to complete your application
Step 3: AIA underwriting Tele-appointment
- To allow AIA to process the application, they require details about your health and lifestyle. The tele-appointment is a simple way to do this over the phone.
- Information gathered in this interview is confidential.
Step 4: Insurance application outcome
- We will notify you if your application is:
- Accepted – congratulations, you’re covered!
- Accepted with certain conditions – you have the option to accept these conditions and implement the insurance, or discuss further and ask for a review of the decision
- Declined – you have the option to discuss further or ask for a review of the decision
Step 5: Move forward with confidence
- Your insurance is sorted!
- You can come back at any time if you need / want more advice (personal or general) in the future – we’ll be here.
- Personal advice takes into consideration your personal goals, needs and objectives.
- Products recommended are from our approved product list which features a range of suppliers (not just AIA).
- We charge a fee for personal advice.
- Refer to our Personal Advice Financial Services Guide for more information.
Step 1: Initial Call
- Our advice assistants will ask you questions to understand the type of advice that may be best suited to your needs, and confirm whether we are able to provide that type of advice
Step 2: Book a complimentary appointment
- We’ll match you with a financial planner and book an appointment at a time that suits you.
- Next, we’ll ask you to complete an online form via our secure customer portal to help us better understand your situation and goals.
- A financial planner will meet with you to discuss your objectives and needs, and the options that may be available to you. They will also explain our fees should you wish to receive personal, tailored advice.
- This is all complimentary and obligation-free
Step 3: Tailored advice and research
- Now that you’ve got the lay of the land, if you decide you want to receive tailored advice, we’ll send you an engagement letter detailing the advice fee which is payable after we deliver the advice recommendations.
- This will be a scaled fee depending on the complexity of advice you need.
- If you accept the engagement letter, we will conduct research and start to prepare your personalised advice document – this document will detail your current financial situation, your life, health and wellbeing goals, and our advice recommendations.
Step 4: Advice appointment
- You will receive straightforward advice, tailored to your objectives and needs.
- Your financial planner will walk you through your advice document, the options available, and explain why each recommendation was made in your best interest.
- They will then discuss next steps and how the advice may be implemented.
Step 5: Move forward with confidence
- Now that you’ve received and understand your advice document, the next step is up to you.
- If you want to proceed with the advice, then we can help you implement it so you can move forward with confidence.
- You can come back at any time if you need / want more advice in the future – we’ll be here.
