As a leading life, health and wellbeing insurer, we’re passionate about understanding the health of our nation. In 2021 we released the 5590+ health framework that highlighted that modifiable lifestyle factors, including inactivity and poor nutrition, lead to five major non-communicable diseases (NCDs) which contribute to over 90 per cent of preventable deaths in Australia.
This shouldn’t be a cause for concern though… it provides immense opportunity. It is possible to decrease the prevalence of these diseases through small, positive lifestyle changes. We, as a nation have an incredible opportunity to make a difference in our lives.
We believe we have a refreshing opportunity to depart from the ‘All or Nothing’ approach when it comes to making positive lifestyle decisions. All or Something means giving a healthier option a go, rather than doing nothing at all – choosing that small something over the extreme, such as doing an extra 10 minutes of movement or drinking an extra glass of water each day.
The All or Something mindset is one that everyone can get behind. By taking a balanced approach to our health and wellbeing, we can incorporate some ‘small somethings into our daily lives that will turn into lasting healthy habits.
The All or Something campaign is the latest innovation driven by AIA Australia as it raises awareness and dialogue about non-communicable disease prevalence. Far from being simply a ‘payer of claims’, the life and health insurer is partnering with its customers, and the Australian community more broadly, empowering them make lasting, healthy choices that will see them thrive.
