A leadership and community program that partners AIA leaders with leaders of not-for-profit organisations with the purpose of improving the health of the nation.

AIA Impact

At AIA Australia, we are focused on supporting Australians to live healthier, longer, better lives.

There are five non-communicable diseases that lead to more than 90% of deaths in Australia – cancer, heart disease, respiratory disease, diabetes and mental health conditions and disorders. Yet these diseases are largely preventable. This is why a major focus of our work is on health promotion and the prevention and early detection of these diseases.

What is AIA Impact?

AIA Impact is a leadership and community program that partners AIA senior leaders with leaders of not-for-profit organisations focused on the prediction and prevention of chronic diseases.

This is an exciting new opportunity for leaders to bring together their skills and expertise, to collaborate for the purpose of improving the health of the nation.

Participants will develop or refine a two-year strategic plan to assist the not-for-profit organisation to achieve their goals in partnership with their paired AIA leaders, and then execute key strategic projects using the skills and expertise of the AIA community.

The vision for AIA Impact is to create shared value by providing opportunities for our people to form meaningful connections and amplify the impact of the not for-profits, in order to deliver health and wellbeing outcomes for Australian communities. The program is a tangible expression of our Corporate Social Responsibility work, which forms part of our ESG strategy.

To bring the program to life, we have partnered with The Growth Project, which will deliver a structured development program for the AIA Impact participants over a two-year period:

FAQs

As the leader of a not-for-profit organisation, you will collaboratively develop a refined two-year strategic plan in partnership with your AIA leaders, to give effect to your goals. This will then lead to the design and implementation of strategic projects with input and hands-on support from the AIA community.

You will also take part in a two-year structured leadership development program, to build your own skills.

It is anticipated that all of the workshops will be held in Melbourne.

The program consists of quarterly full-day workshops over a two-year period (calendar can be found above), as well as time spent between the workshops to implement the strategic plan. The amount of time required will vary depending on the strategic initiatives to be carried out, the not-for-profit organisation’s resources that can be committed to the program, and the level of engagement with the AIA community.

There is no financial cost to the not-for-profit organisation or leader for participation in the program. However, depending on their location, please note that not-for-profits may be required to cover travel expenses for attending the leadership development sessions.
